Youth Day celebration in Donga Mantung

All is set for the Youth Day celebration in Donga Mantung The first preparatory meeting for the 52 nd National Youth day celebration in Donga Mantung took place at the Nkambe community hall, last Tuesday chaired by the Senior Divisional Officer For Donga Mantung, Kweti Simon Ndoh. The meeting brought together all the youth stakeholders including Delegates, Head teachers, fons, National youth Council and Youth leaders among others. In his opening remarks, the SDO Donga Mantung narrated the history of Cameroon up till the point where the National Youth day was instituted. The Divisional Chief of the Multipurpose Youth Empowerment center, Utia Andrew presented the summary report the 51 st edition of the Youth day celebration in the lone Nkambe youth day center, the challenges and the proposed solutions. The Divisional Delegates added that due to treats, very few people came to the Ndu grandstand and they sang the National Anthem and word from the Divisional officer Ndu.

NDU  Reproductive  health Campaigned  Planning meeting by Volunteers  The Ndu Reproductive Health Campaign is aimed towards educating the youth in the Ndu area about family planning, reproductive health and STDs. At least five villages in the Ndu municipality will be targeted in the project: Talla, Ndu, Wat, Mbot, and Njimkang. The project will  begin  in 2017 with a week-long trainings of volunteers, peer educators..... and with parents on how to talk to their children about reproductive health, and one with the youth who are not in school anymore about the topics named above. Finally, in each of the schools, we will also implement emergency menstruation centers where girls who have been surprised by their period can go to get pads and other necessary resources. The hopes are that after our campaign we will see a definite change in attitude towards safer sexual behavior and more awareness in gender issues in the population of the Ndu area. Septe

Donga Mantung Councilors on scale for the councilor of the Mandate Award Planning meeting in Nkambe / Ndu Councilors, civil society organization members, political actors, community leaders amongst others in Donga Mantung are nominating and voting for the first ever Councilor and Council of the Mandate award. The members of the Rogers Nforgwei People’s Award committee headed Kongor john Kwa as President, Utia Andrew Uze 1 as secretary and Marcel Abanda representative of Rogers Nforgwei, so far has held two meetings in Nkambe with representatives from Ako, Misaje and Nkambe and in Ndu with Representatives of actors from Nwa and Ndu Sub Divisions. The two meetings were held to selects the various categories and the criteria’s for the Rogers Nforgwei People’s Award. After all the meetings and consultation, the committee resolve that the beneficiaries of the Award should received the award base on Merit and performance.
