Councilors, civil society
organization members, political actors, community leaders amongst others in
Donga Mantung are nominating and voting for the first ever Councilor and Council of the Mandate award. The members of the Rogers Nforgwei People’s Award
committee headed Kongor john Kwa as President, Utia Andrew Uze 1 as secretary
and Marcel Abanda representative of Rogers Nforgwei, so far has held two
meetings in Nkambe with representatives from Ako, Misaje and Nkambe and in Ndu
with Representatives of actors from Nwa and Ndu Sub Divisions. The two meetings
were held to selects the various categories and the criteria’s for the Rogers
Nforgwei People’s Award. After all the meetings and consultation, the committee
resolve that the beneficiaries of the Award should received the award base on
Merit and performance. Consequently, 5 councilors of the mandate (2013-2018), 5
groups of councilors from the five councils of Donga Mantung Division and the Council of the mandate be awarded. The criteria include for individual councilors state that “An exceptional individual counselor who has made a big contribution
to their community, either through volunteering, charity fundraising,
committing an act of bravery” considering Creativity and Restitution of council
activities back in the Community and for group of councilors “A group (two or
more councilors) who have made a big contribution to their community, either
through collective volunteering, charity fundraising, committing an act of
bravery, an outstanding achievement, or by helping to put their community on
the map in a positive way”.
The award ceremony will take
place in March 2018 in the various councils of the Division.
The RONPA has the Vision to
transform the Donga-Mantung socio-economic and political ecosystem through people-centered
and unselfish development and mission to cultivate and encourage the scarce
culture of caring about and loving the people in our community and providing
sustainable community development in varied ways – infrastructural facilities,
human capital development and social amenities for decent living. Those
nominating and voting have up till February 16th January 2018 to
summit their forms back to the Award committee, which is generally chair by the
Senior Divisional Officer For Donga Mantung, Doh Simon.
